Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Africa, and now North America – Flint Canada is the company’s first entity across the pond and promises to bring our best practices and more than 20 years of experience in successful ICT projects to customers across Canada and the United States of America.
The Flint family has grown continuously since 2015, today encompassing twelve entities throughout Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and Africa. The latest entity to join is Flint Canada, established earlier this year in Regina, Saskatchewan. The new entity is Flint’s response to an ever-increasing demand for the company’s services in North America.
With more than 20 years of experience in the ICT industry, Flint has gathered invaluable experiences and has grown from a small consultancy company into a multinational provider of strategic resourcing, professional and learning services. “Flint Canada is our response to the growing demand for our services in North America. Our clients value our devotion to addressing their commercial, contractual or compliance challenges. Through our local entities, we are addressing the latter – not just ensuring legal compliance, but also offering our clients a local point of contact,” notes Ian Ashford, Director of Sales & Marketing at Flint.
Supporting Your Growth
Flint has been actively involved in some of the world’s most challenging and fast-growing markets for more than 20 years. The company has been able to adapt quickly, moving much faster than larger corporate organisations. Our clients benefit from our agile disposition and rely on us to support them through their challenges and helping them grow in new markets. Throughout our entities, clients can expect the same best practices and quality of experience.
Flint Canada will make our experience and expertise easier accessible to clients in North America. “Our core team and contractors support clients in more than 40 countries worldwide. In the last few years, we have seen an increasing amount of interest from clients located in North America, and we’re more than ready to support them locally and globally,” assures Ian.
Amongst the most sought-after services are our technical staffing offers. “Flint is best known as a reliable and proven strategic resourcing partner, whether this means finding the right candidates for contractual or in-house positions or deploying managed teams of professionals. In North America, we have seen an increasing amount of interest in project management resources we are ready to meet,” emphasises Ian. Flint’s learning services are also in high demand, helping clients drive new technology adoption and taking advantage of our close relationship with key vendors in the ICT industry.
Swapping Hot Summer Nights for Blistering Cold Winter Mornings
Flint Canada will be headed by Colin Levey, an experienced network engineer, who has been working extensively throughout Africa. The move to Saskatchewan earlier this year meant swapping plus 30 degrees Celsius in Johannesburg for minus 30 degrees Celsius in Regina.
Colin joined Flint in April 2020, bringing over 12 years Telecoms experience to the team. He has been working for both large corporations and small start-ups, most recently as a Senior Solutions Architect for Liquid Telecom, the largest Fibre Optics services provider in Africa. Colin’s engineering background allows him to understand our clients’ technical and business challenges deeply, continuing the legacy of Flint’s technically trained management team.
“Flint has a unique combination of the agility typically found in smaller organisations coupled with an extensive wealth of expertise. These expertise span multiple markets and stem from our staff and management having experience across Enterprise, Operator and Vendor environments. This allows Flint to provide our customers with solutions and proposals tailored to their unique environments and needs,” emphasis Colin.
“Clients can expect us to bring all this knowledge and experience to the North American market to support them in whatever their needs are – be it strategic resourcing, customer enablement or full-scale project rollout and support. With my experience in delivering complex projects in Africa, along with the extensive capabilities already being leveraged within Flint I truly believe Flint Canada can bring a fresh perspective and first-class service to our customers here.”
New Opportunities and Partners
Flint has already been engaging with a number of large customers and partners who are based in Canada and the United States; however, the company has been limited in delivering its full capabilities without a local entity. “With Flint Canada now being fully active we are able to cater for the specific needs of local customers both from logistical as well as compliance standpoints. One of our biggest success stories out of the Canadian market is our partnership with Blue Planet, where we have been able to create a full library of online content and digital training for their Partner Portal – providing them with the ability to onboard and upskill customers, partners and resellers during these unprecedented times we are facing currently,” Colin notes.
Flint Canada was established in the midst of the global pandemic making Colin’s relocation that much more of challenging. “The move to Canada has been a rollercoaster ride, with the Covid-19 pandemic only making things even more difficult. I look forward to the new challenge of breaking into a mature market with well-established partners and customers and to show what we can bring to the table. This move is a major turning point in my life, both professionally and personally, I am looking forward to the opportunities and challenges I will be facing in the months to come.”
