Flint is seeking a skilled Resident Engineer to support our client’s Fortinet infrastructure on-site in Budapest. This is a contractual role with an initial duration of 12 months and a strong possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies and a proactive approach to automation and zero-touch provisioning (ZTP).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support and management of Fortinet infrastructure (FMG, FAZ, FG – both on-premises and cloud).
- Serve as the on-site technical expert for Fortinet solutions, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to Fortinet hardware and software.
- Collaborate with customer teams to implement configuration changes and upgrades.
- Recommend and implement process improvements and optimizations for Fortinet environments.
- Support automation initiatives and ZTP strategies to streamline network operations.
- Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation and reports.
Requirements
Mandatory:
- Proven experience with Fortinet technologies: FortiManager (FMG), FortiAnalyzer (FAZ), FortiGate (FG) — both on-prem and cloud environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently on customer site.
Preferred:
- Experience with automation tools or scripting languages such as: Terraform, Ansible, Python.
- Fortinet certifications (e.g., NSE4, NSE5, or higher) are a plus.
- Previous experience in a Resident Engineer or customer-facing technical role.
