This year’s Cisco Automation DevDays in Stockholm offered over 80 sessions by 72 different speakers discussing network automation, Cisco’s latest technologies, and customer success stories. Flint SI‘s network orchestration team participated in the event not only to network with fellow engineers and enjoy multiple presentations but also welcomed attendees at our Gold Sponsor booth.
The event kicked off with a keynote by Will Eatherton on Cisco’s AI integration in network operations. Throughout the event our team attended sessions on Orange Spain’s journey to autonomous networks and the latest Crosswork Automation capabilities for multi-vendor, multi-domain orchestration. Key highlights included insights into the Crosswork Network Controller, enhancing lifecycle automation, sustainability efforts, and real-time observability. The new Crosswork Workflow Manager 1.1 features were particularly impressive, emphasizing modular workflow development and enhanced messaging.

With the team’s extensive Cisco NSO knowledge, they were excited to see a much tighter integration of the product with Cisco Crosswork Hierarchical Controller (HCO, previously Sedona NetFusion). Cisco HCO provides a single controller and pane-of-glass view for management of IP and optical, as well as microwave networks.
The main technical takeaways from this year’s Cisco Automation DevDays:
– NSO is still highly relevant and used by the biggest service providers.
– NSO offers more and more integrations with other Cisco products (e.g. Accedian Skylight).

Apart from exploring the newest and latest in Cisco network automation solutions, an evening cruise with dinner around the Stockholm archipelago provided a wonderful networking opportunity and showcased the beauty of the country’s coastline.
