The Group Accountant is responsible for overseeing various Finance and Accounting functions across Flint Group entities and consolidating the Group’s monthly results. Working closely with the CFO, the Group Accountant will drive improvements to enhance the quality of reporting within the Group. This role involves collaborating with various finance departments, as well as third-party accountants and bookkeepers, to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of management accounts. The Group Accountant will also manage the international aspect of the annual audit, ensuring that all requested information is collected from overseas entities. Additionally, they will assist in the annual budgeting and mid-year forecasting processes and provide regular and ad-hoc analyses to inform business managers on performance. The role also includes undertaking company secretarial and other compliance tasks related to the Group’s operations as needed.
Building strong relationships with key teams within the Group is crucial, and occasional overseas travel may be required to facilitate this.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Provide accurate and timely consolidated results for the Group on a monthly basis, including analysis and commentary on performance.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and mid-year forecasting processes; support local entities in completing their plans and consolidating them into the Group plan.
- Oversee the international aspects of the Group audit, ensuring that local entities provide necessary information to auditors and respond promptly to additional requests.
- Assist in conducting internal audits of local entities.
- Manage FX hedging contracts to minimize exposure to currency fluctuations.
- Provide financial support and guidance to colleagues at all levels within the Group as needed.
- Support the Finance Director in delivering the functional strategy for the finance department.
- Provide administrative and company secretarial support for the incorporation of new entities, opening of bank accounts, notarization of documents, etc.
- Raise intercompany invoices for management charges and handle associated credit control activities.
- Ensure that appropriate documentation is prepared and signed for intercompany loans and other funding arrangements.
- Research tax and employment issues for new markets the business may wish to enter.
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Proficient in English (C2)
- Accounting Degree or relevant qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/AAT/MAAT)
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Highly organized and structured approach
- Competency with MS Excel (Pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
Desired (but not essential) Skills/Qualifications:
- Based in Ljubljana
- Proficient in German (B2)
